Tule River Tribe donates $15K for city's fireworks celebration





The Tule River Tribe in California will contribute $15,000 to help the city of Porterville celebrate its 150th anniversary.

The tribe is matching $15,000 that the city will use to put on a fireworks show during the Freedom Fest. The event is part of the city's sesquicenten­nial celebration.

Tribal council members indicated they wanted to donate the money to foster relations with the city.
