Martha Berryhill, a member of Muscogee (Creek)
Nation, celebrated her 109th birthday on Tuesday.
Berryhill was born in Oklahoma in 1900. She is the last living tribal member who received land under the General Allotment Act and the last living member whose name appears on the Dawes Roll.
"This is a great day for Martha, but more than that, it's a great day for the Creek Nation — the last living allottee," said Principal Chief A.D. Ellis, The Tulsa World reported. "Martha, you're known all over the United States. Congratulations." .
More than 100 people attended her birthday celebration.
