Oklahoma players embrace Indian heritage
Two football players for the University of Oklahoma are happy to serve as role models for Indian Country.

Sam Bradford (Cherokee) and Derek Shaw (Ponca/Osage) are two of the team's brightest stars. They both have big followings among Indian sports fans.

"As far as me and Sam go, I think we are trying to be a real inspiration to them and show them they can do whatever they want to do," Shaw told The Daily Orange.

Bradford and Shaw have been meeting with Indian youth to mentor and advise them about continuing their education.
