Seneca-Cayuga Tribe still waiting on BIA
The Bureau of Indian Affairs has yet to decide who are the rightful leaders of the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma, more than a month after an election.

The tribe chose a new chief and other leaders on June 7. But the immediate past chief, Paul Spicer, tried to reclaim power using the tribe's court.

The BIA has determined that the court order is invalid, a move that appears to support the new leadership. Newly elected Second Chief Katie Birdsong said she hopes the BIA finally puts an en end to the dispute.
