Cherokee Nation council passes arts and crafts act

The Cherokee Nation council has passed its own version of the Indian Arts and Crafts Act.

Anyone who sells art within the Cherokee Nation must be a Cherokee citizen or a member of a federally recognized tribe.

Cara Cowan-Watts, a member of the tribal council, said the law will prevent the sale of fake arts and crafts.
