Senate confirmation hearing for Dr. Grim of IHS

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee will hold a confirmation hearing this Thursday for Dr. Charles Grim to be director of the Indian Health Service.
Grim is a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. He worked for the IHS for more than 20 years when he was nominated and confirmed as director in July 2003 [

In May, President Bush nominated Grim to a second term. "I am honored to be nominated for a second term and am eager to continue our work to elevate the health status of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest possible level. The hearing takes place at 9:30am in Room 485 of the Russell Senate Office Building. A witness list hasn't been released.
