The San Luis Rey Band of Luiseño Indians of California holds its 11th annual powwow this weekend.
The tribe expects thousands to attend the event in Oceanside.
"It's a way to tell people the San Luis Rey Indians are still here," vice chairman and secretary of the San Luis Rey Indian Foundation, told The San Diego Union-Tribune.
The powwow features dancers, vendors and a performance by bluesman
Tracy Lee Nelson of the La Jolla Band of Luiseno Indians.
