Native man on trial for gang-related murder

A Native gang member is on trial in Saskatchewan for murder.

Quinton Bitternose, who is acting as his own lawyer but has been barred from the courtroom, is charged with murdering Wayne Gerald Friday. The crime is linked to Native gang activity in Regina.

"This is what happens when you f--- with Native Syndicate," Bitternose told Friday, a witness testified in court on Friday.

Ten reputed gang members were charged in connection with Friday's murder. One was convicted and three were acquitted last May.
