Editorial: Here we go again, Bush cuts UTTC funds
Friday, February 11, 2005

"In what has become an annual minuet, the Bush administration has for the fourth year in a row left funding for United Tribes Technical College, Bismarck, out of its preliminary Bureau of Indian Affairs-Department of the Interior budget.

Actually, the threat to UTTC has been a feature of all five Bush budgets. In 2001, when its federal money -- for adult vocational education -- came from the Department of Education, UTTC was left out of that budget.

Hence this fifth annual editorial, another part of the minuet. The conclusion calls for the state's congressional delegation to come riding to the rescue and gain reinstatement of the money, which they have never failed to do. If the Republican administration were engaged in a conspiracy to make the Democratic delegation look good, it couldn't do any better."
