Memorial, tournament set for slain Lakota soldier

Army Pfc. Sheldon Hawk Eagle, a Lakota soldier who died in Iraq, will be honored at a memorial and basketball tournament later this month.

Hawk Eagle's family and the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe are hosting a memorial walk, giveaway and dinner on November 20. The tournament will take place November 20 and 21. All events take place in Eagle Butte, South Dakota, on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation.

Hawk Eagle, a descendant of Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull, was killed in a Black Hawk helicopter crash in November 2003. He was 21.
