Early voting high on Yankton Sioux Reservation

Absentee voters from the Yankton Sioux Reservation in South Dakota have turned out in record numbers, according to the county auditor.

Charles Mix County auditor Norman Cihak said two vans and one bus full of Indian voters showed up last week to cast early ballots. He said absentee voting has doubled.

Early voting has taken place on the Pine Ridge, Rosebud Sioux and Lower Brule Sioux reservations.
