Confusion continues over ownership of homes

Navajos in Shiprock, New Mexico, are still confused over the ownership of their homes.

The Navajos thought they were new homeowners. They referred to letters that said they were paying off a mortgage.

But they have since been told they are renters. Some have been threatened with eviction if they do not pay up.

The renters/homeowners say they don't know where to turn. They asked former Kelsey Begaye and Dr. Taylor McKenzie, former Navajo Nation president and vice-president, to find out what was going on but say they haven't gotten a response. They also say local leaders haven't helped.
