Crowd protests Agua Caliente Band's health care

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians was the target of a protest on Thursday over the tribe's decision to impose a health-care premium on employees.

A crowd of employees, union workers and clergy protested outside the tribe's casino in downtown Palm Springs. They said the tribe can afford to shoulder the rising costs of health care.

The $25 biweekly premium goes into effect this month. Employees with families have always paid a premium for family members.

Health care premiums are skyrocketing nationwide and in California.
