A 18-year-old from the Leech Lake Ojibwe Reservation in Minnesota was sentenced to 26 years in prison for the brutal beating death of a legally blind man.

Jesse Royal Tapio was 16 at the time of Darrell Bisson's death. Tapio and two other teens chased Bisson and bludgeoned him with an ax handle he carried for protection.

Tapio and the other teens, who have already been sentenced for the crime, had been drinking and may have been using drugs the night of the November 2002 incident.
