Tribal centers participate in youth diabetes study

Three tribal health centers in Oklahoma are part of a national study on youth diabetes.

The Absentee Shawnee Tribe, the Chickasaw Nation and the Choctaw Nation will partner with the Oklahoma University Children's Physicians Diabetes Center. They will participate in clinical trials that include medications, diabetes education, laboratory tests and doctor visits.

All Oklahoma children can participate but researchers want to focus on Indian youth.
