Blackfeet Reservation school keeping language alive

A privately-run elementary school on the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana is keeping the Blackfeet language alive for a new generation.

The school is part of the Piegan Institute's goal to preserve a language that is falling out of use. Started 10 years ago, all instruction is in Blackfeet. The curriculum is similar to that of any other elementary.

The school encourages parents to continue speaking Blackfeet outside of the school setting.
