Peace and Dignity runners halfway to goal

Runners on the Peace and Dignity Journey have completed 3,200 miles of their 5,000-mile run across North and Central America.

On May 1, about 25 runners left the Alaska Native village of Chickaloon. They arrived in southern California on Monday.

The group will arrive in Panama City, Panama, in October. Another group that left the southern tip of Chile on May 1 will meet them there.

The Journey has been run for four years. This year's theme is women and Mother Earth.
