Blackfeet Reservation doctor, nurse win top awards


An Indian Health Service (IHS) doctor and nurse who work on the Blackfeet Reservation in Montana have won top awards.

Dr. Randy Rottenbiller won the U.S. Public Health Service's clinical physician of the year award, the agency's top honor. He came to the reservation in 1985.

Nurse Iva Gregory won the IHS award for clinical nurse of the year, another top honor. She has worked at the reservation hospital since 1989 and advocates for Native in cancer prevention and for HIV and AIDS awareness and prevention.
