Massachusetts group wants anti-Indian law repealed

A Massachusetts-based group is calling for the repeal of a 329-year-old law that calls for the arrest of all Indians entering Boston.

The Muhheconnew National Confederacy wants the Indian Imprisonment Act taken off the books by the end of the legislative session on July 22. The group says the repeal should be accompanied by a public event with tribes.

State attorney general Thomas F. Reilly has been asked to determine the status of the law.
