North Dakota helping BIA with No Child Left Behind

The state of North Dakota is helping the Bureau of Indian Affairs meet the mandates of the No Child Left Behind Act.

The state is working with the BIA to develop a way to measure student performance. A proposed plan calls for BIA schools to use the state's assessment and standards.

The state's Department of Public Instruction would score the test and provide graduation and attendance rate information to the BIA to gage student achievement.
