EPA to delay regulations on mercury emissions

The Environmental Protection Agency is delaying the implementation of regulations aimed at curbing toxic mercury emissions from power plants.

The EPA said it won't issue a final rule until March 2005. Environmental groups and some Democrats complained the proposal wasn't strict enough.

Mercury poses dangers to pregnant women and children.
