A non-Indian farmer who rammed his tractor into a police officer on the Omaha Reservation was acquitted by a federal jury.

The jury found Kim Knecht innocent of assaulting a federal officer and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Knecht was indicted by the U.S. Attorney in Nebraska for an October 7 incident in which he was accused of trespassing on tribal land. He rammed his tractor into a car carrying a tribal officer and a tribal prosecutor.
