Four candidates are interviewing to be the next director of Native American Programs at Central Michigan University.

The program's director recently resigned. The school cut the program's budget nearly in half, eliminating one top position.

Of the court candidates, Matthew Van Alstine is a faculty member at the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College.

The school hopes to hire a director in time for the fall semester.
