Eyre casting for film about contemporary Natives


Noted director Chris Eyre is casting for a film about contemporary Natives that will be shown at the new National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.

"A Thousand Roads" will follow people in Barrow, Seattle, Albuquerque and Manhattan while a Native talk radio DJ acts as a narrator, The Anchorage Daily News reported. The 40-minute film will debut at NMAI's opening this September and run for five years.

Cup'ik Warrior Productions out of Anchorage handled casting for the Barrow portion. Eyre is looking for urban and village Inupiaqs to star in the film.
