The chairman of the Scotts Valley Band of Pomo Indians says rumors of his ouster are greatly exaggerated.
Chairman Don Arnold says he and three other tribal council members were not ousted in a recent vote. He says he remains the federally recognized leader.
A rival group has circulated a petition against Arnold and the other council members.
The petition claims the council has become too close to investors who have bought land for a casino.
