Investigators in six states probe murders of women

Investigators from six states are meeting in Oklahoma today to consider the deaths of several women, including several Indian women.

The murders in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee and Mississippi date back two years. Since all have common elements, authorities are considering they may be the work a serial killer.

The most recent case is 19-year-old Casey Jo Pipestem, a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. She had been raped and beaten to death. Her body was thrown off a bridge in Texas.

Another unidentified Indian woman was found last October in Texas. Like Pipestem, she is believed to have been involved in prostitution.

Police say there were at least seven victims and possibly 10. All the women were either Indian or White.
