The Seminole Tribe of Florida has made a $1 billion offer for the Hard Rock Cafe chain, The Times of London reports.
The Rank Group is auctioning the chain. The tribe entered bidding at the last minute and outbid other potential buyers, the paper said.
The tribe operates two Hard Rock casino resorts under a license agreement with Rank.
