The Seminole Tribe of Florida is in federal court, seeking to break an "illegal" deal with the developer of its successful casinos.
The tribe opened two Hard Rock Hotel & Casinos, one in Hollywood and the other in Tampa.
Cordish Company, a Baltimore-based developer, provided the backing in exchange for 30 percent of net revenues over 10 years.
The agreement was approved by the National Indian Gaming Commission but the tribe says it is unfair. The tribe says Cordish stands to gain more than $2 billion for providing few services.
Cordish responds that the tribe is acting greedy and is trying to cheat the company out of its money.
