Seminole Tribe files response in gaming lawsuit

The Seminole Tribe of Florida is citing a letter from the National Indian Gaming Commission in its fight to break a contract with a casino developer.

The tribe says the letter from NIGC Chairman Phil Hogen questions the legality of agreements in which developers appear to receive large sums of money for questionable services. The tribe claims Power Plant Entertainment is earning too much from the tribe's two successful casinos and is asking a federal judge to break the contract.

According to the tribe, Power Plant will receive $2.2 billion over two years for providing little services. Power Plant responded that the Seminoles are too greedy.
