The Gila River Indian Community of Arizona announced plans to move its Wild Horse Pass Casino closer to Interstate 10 and undertake a major expansion of the facility.
The $150 million casino resort features a 100,000-square foot gaming floor, a 225-room hotel, an entertainment venue, conference facilities, a pool, a spa and health club, stores, a nightclub, multiple restaurants, a lounge and food court.
It would replace the tribe's existing 50,000-square-foot casino. Gordon Santos Sr., a tribal leader in charge of the expansion team, said the community has "outgrown" the current facility.
Construction begins in the spring and the new casino is expected to open in summer 2008.
The tribe is also looking move another one of its casinos.
