The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut may drop its plans to open a racino in Pennsylvania.
The tribe jumped into Pennsylvania after the state legalized slot machines at racetracks. But officials now say they may not be able to make money due to higher than expected tax rates.
The tax on slot revenues was expected to be 55 percent. The state now says it will be 63 percent.
The state also says the racino would have to pay more to the local government than previously expected.
