The Chickasaw Nation of Oklahoma expects to make more money than ever in the coming year, with most of the income coming from the tribe's gaming empire.
The Chickasaws own more gaming facilities than any other tribe in Oklahoma or in the U.S. The casinos have helped the tribe boost income from $59 million in 2003 to an expected $200 million in 2007.
The tribe hopes to use the income to move beyond gaming. The goal is to have half of tribal revenue come from non-gaming businesses in the next 10 years.
