Tribal gaming has actually helped Las Vegas casinos, say gaming and industry experts.
California tribes have seen their revenues grow in recent years. But so have Vegas casinos -- growing by nearly $2 billion since 1999, according to new figures. A big chunk of Vegas visitors -- 29 percent -- come from southern California, where several tribes have expanded their enterprises.
Tribal gaming has generated an appetite for Vegas gaming, say experts. Industry representatives say tribal casinos prompted Vegas facilities to re-evaluate their options.
