The Confederated Grand Ronde Tribes of Oregon are shutting down the bingo hall at the Spirit Mountain Casino on Thursday.
The tribe will convert the hall into a non-smoking gaming space. Some of the casino's existing slot machines are going to be moved into the room. Casino executives don't know if bingo will ever make a return.
The tribe would like to install more slot machines but will have to negotiate a new compact with the state. Talks are ongoing.
