Ho-Chunk Nation to resume compact negotiations

The Ho-Chunk Nation and the state of Wisconsin hope to reach an agreement over $60 million in gaming revenues owed under a disputed compact.

The tribe withheld the money after provisions in the compact were ruled invalid. The tribe stopped offering Class III games that had been authorized by the compact but the state contends the tribe still owes the money.

If negotiations fail, the dispute will be referred to an arbitrator who was appointed by a federal judge.
