Grand Forks leaders open to urban tribal casino

Officials in Grand Forks, North Dakota, say they are open to the possibility of a tribal casino in the city.

The Turtle Mountain Ojibwe Tribe has already met with some officials to discuss the idea. If approved, it would be the state's first off-reservation casino.

City council members say they haven't heard enough about the proposal to make a final decision but that they are keeping a positive outlook. The city council president said the city is interested in a share of casino revenues.

Tribes in the state have voiced some opposition to the casino. Four other tribes operate casinos on their reservations.
