The Confederated Tribes of the Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians of Oregon are opening a new casino in Florence later this month.
The Three Rivers Casino will feature 260 slot machines, table games, two restaurants and one sports bar. It is expected to bring in $12 million a year. The casino will be the biggest employer in in Florence with 300 new jobs created.
The tribes won a critical court decision, filed by the state, that allowed the casino to go forward. Local residents filed another suit but have been rebuffed in the courts.
