The Sac and Fox Nation is eyeing the high-end gaming market with a proposed casino in downtown Shawnee, Oklahoma.
The tribe wants to covert a vacant Sears building into an upscale casino. Renovations are estimated at $2 million.
Sac and Fox treasurer Truman Carter spoke about the proposal at a meeting last night. He said the casino would generate revenues for the city and local businesses but would not increase crime.
