Deliberations in the case of the driver accused of killing William Tenorio of San
Felipe Pueblo in New Mexico entered a second day without a verdict.
The jury is weighing charges of vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of accident against Carlos Fierro, 36, an attorney and lobbyist who has worked on Indian issues.
Authorities say he struck and killed Tenorio, 46, in the early morning hours of November 26, 2008, before he fled the scene.
Fierro took the stand and acknowledged he was drunk when he was driving his car. But he claims he didn't know he struck Tenorio. His attorneys have blamed Tenorio for contributing to the accident.
