A man accused in the drunken-driving death of William Tenorio of San
Felipe Pueblo plans to take the stand when his case goes to trial later this month.
Carlos Fierro, 36, will apparently admit he had been drinking on the night of the November 26, 2008, accident in Santa Fe. But he will apparently testify that he didn't realize that he struck Tenorio.
Fierro, a former Congressional staffer, faces charges of vehicular homicide and causing a fatal accident. His trial is scheduled to run September 21 to October 1.
A second man, Alfred Lovato, a former state police officer, also faces charges for Tenorio's death as a passenger in the car.
