A New Mexico man who is accused in the drunken driving death of William Tenorio of San
Felipe Pueblo is asking for a delay in his trial.
Carlos Fierro, 36, is scheduled to stand trial on September on charges of vehicular homicide and causing a fatal accident. He allegedly struck and killed Tenorio on November 26, 2008, and fled the scene.
Fierro's attorneys want to delay the trial in order to review evidence and new documents. Some of the evidence relates to Fierro's alleged drunken state on the night of the accident.
Alfred Lovato, a former state police officer, has also been charged in connection with Tenorio's death. He was a passenger in Fierro's car.
