The Intertribal Indian Organization in Farmington, New Mexico, honored the city's outgoing manager, Bob Hudson, for keeping the group alive.
The organization was in debt until Hudson proposed a partnership with the city. The group now has a budget of $160,000 and all of its employees are city employees with benefits.
Jasper Joe, the chair of said the Farmington Indian Center wouldn't have survived without Hudson, who retires April 1.
