Nebraska county to house inmates for BIA

Dakota County in Nebraska has been awarded a contract to house inmates for the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The contract pays for up to 30 inmates to be house at the county's jail. The BIA will pay $95 per day per bed. Inmates will come from five tribes in Nebraska and Iowa.

The contract is good for the rest of the month because Congress hasn't finalized the Interior appropriations bill.
