The Bureau of Indian Affairs will be holding another public meeting on the Oneida Nation's land-into-trust application.

The last meeting drew a huge crowd, The Syracuse Post-Standard reported. So the BIA is searching for a bigger place to hold the next session, to take place sometime early next month, the paper said.

The tribe wants more than 17,000 acres in two counties placed in trust. The application was filed after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled last year that the tribe has go through the land-into-trust process before asserting sovereignty on its properties.
