Haskell students lead Columbus Day protest
Tuesday, October 10, 2006

Students from Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas led a protest against Columbus Day on Monday.

Haskell gets the day off because it's a federal holiday. But Derrick White, a Navajo/Potawatomi, said he didn't want to sit around and do nothing so he organized the protest.

White thought only a few people would show but about 50 participated.
