The Mescalero Apache Nation of New Mexico received more than $2.3 million in housing funds to improve housing on the reservation.
The money comes from the Indian Housing Block Grant program. The Bush administration had suspended the program after a losing a court case but funding is now back on track.
Along with other HUD funds, the tribe hopes to improve homeownership rates on the reservation.
