Urban Indians in Great Falls, Montana, who want to become homeowners should be able to get help through a new program.
The Urban Indian Homeownership Initiative in Great Falls is a partnership between Wells Fargo, the Neighborhood Housing Service of Great Falls and the Little Shell Chippewa Tribe. The Little Shell Tribe is based in Great Falls, home to about 3,000 Native Americans.
The program offers classes and workshops to teach potential homeowners about credit repair and home buying fundamentals. Participants who complete the program and qualify for loans will be able to gain assistance with down payments and closing costs.
