The Senate Indian Affairs Committee is holding a hearing this Wednesday, June 28, on Indian housing.
A witness list is not yet available but Marty Shuravloff, the newly elected chairman of the National American Indian Housing Council is expected to testify about budget cuts, the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act and the government-to-government relationship with the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
That same day, NAIHC is hosting a briefing at its headquarters in Washington, D.C., to talk about Indian housing issues, particularly HUD's decision to suspend Indian Housing Block Grant awards pending litigation. Contact NAIHC at http://naihc.net for more information.
