The Senate Indian Affairs Committee has scheduled three hearings this month.
On May 10, the committee is holding an oversight hearing on economic development. This is the first on the topic since Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona) took over as chairman in January 2005.
On May 17, the committee is holding an oversight hearing on youth suicide. This is the third hearing on the subject. The first was a field hearing in North Dakota a year ago on May 2. The second was held in Washington on June 16, 2005.
On May 25, the committee is holding an oversight hearing on education, the second on the topic during the 109th Congress.
