Police in Connecticut are investigating the murder of Anthony Hamlin, a member of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation.
Upset that his tribe was denied recognition, Hamlin, 40, was planning to move to Virginia. But on the night he train was to depart, he was murdered. His body was found in a field near the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation's casino.
Hamlin, a father of five, had already secured a job in Virginia, where his sister lives. He had been active in the tribe and in the chuch, family members said.
